Outline of the Research Conference
In 2009, the number of starving people in the world exceeded 1 billion (FAO), and it is estimated that at least 200 million people will be forced to migrate due to climate change by 2050 (IOM). If no drastic measures are taken at this point, the point of no return, the point at which the temperature rise exceeds 2 degrees Celsius as the entrance to the “hell of global warming,” is expected to be within 20 years. In other words, we have to carry out a green revolution/low carbon revolution from a carbon economy to a zero carbon economy in the future. In addition, as global warming progresses, it is necessary to consider adaptation measures (including geoengineering) as soon as possible.
Considering these circumstances, it is inevitable that the next few years will be turbulent years for envisioning and starting to implement strategies for a low-carbon/green revolution. Therefore, the SPEED Research Group will continue its activities under the following themes.
Theme:
- Research and study on environmental innovation and green business for climate stabilization and environmental conservation and restoration
- Research and proposal on “environmental management” to lead the low-carbon revolution
- Research on global warming adaptation measures (including geoengineering) and adaptation businesses
